Dead mice found in an oil tin of a street vendor at Dargah, near Hazratbal shrine
Chaos erupted in Hazratbal area after two dead mice were found inside an oil tin used by a street vendor to fry fitters.
On account of this, several concerns were raised over food hygiene and public health by the devotees who had gathered at Hazratbal shrine for the congregational prayers.
According to Agency that the Food safety Srinagar along with Srinagar Police destroy the vendor shop in Hazratbal Srinagar, Srinagar Police with the direction of SP Hazratbal Hilal Khaliq, DO Hazratbal, SHO Nigeen registered FIR in Nigeen Police station FIR No 10/2025 u/S 271 BNS for negligence and potentially spreading an infection.
This incident raises several concerns over the unhygienic food practices of the local vendors considering the mass consumption of the street food.
