Series of Earthquakes Jolt Afghanistan–Pakistan Border; Tremors Felt in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 1, Within the past ten hours, eight earthquakes of magnitude 4.0 and above have struck the Jalalabad region of Afghanistan, close to the Afghanistan–Pakistan border.
According to seismic reports, the strongest of the quakes was the first, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale. The repeated shocks triggered panic in the affected areas, though there were no immediate reports of major damage or casualties.
Tremors from some of the earthquakes were also felt in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, forcing residents in several districts to rush out of their homes.
Authorities in the region are monitoring the situation closely.
