Police arrests two drug peddlers in Kulgam; Contraband substance recovered

October 01: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug Peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police party of Police Post Mirbazar headed by Incharge PP Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Malpora Chowk intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing registration No. JK08-6623 with 02 persons on board. During search, 4.6Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Mohd Aslam Kumar son of Abdul Gani Kumar resident of Marhama Anantnag and Rakesh Kumar resident of Darshan Kumar resident of Pathankot Punjab. Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 214/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.
