Srinagar, July 2 (GNS): Minimum temperatures remained above normal in Kashmir on Saturday.
A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 23.5ยฐC against 23.6ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature, he said, was around 6.4ยฐC above normal during this time of the year for the summer capital.
Qazigund recorded a low of 21.7ยฐC against 21.6ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 6.2ยฐC above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
In Pahalgam, the mercury settled at 17.6ยฐC, 6.8ยฐC above normal, while Kokernag recorded a low of 19.0ยฐC which was 4.1ยฐC for the place, he said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 14.6ยฐC, 3.9ยฐC above normal Kupwara town saw a low of 20.7ยฐC, 5.2ยฐC higher than usual for this time of the season, the official said.
Jammu, which received 0.8mm of rain in the last 24 hours till 0830 hours today, recorded a low of 26.1ยฐC , 0.5ยฐC above normal for J&Kโs winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 19.2ยฐC, Batote 19.1ยฐC, Katra 24.2ยฐC while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 18.5ยฐC, the official said.
Light to moderate rain in spells, especially in morning hours at scattered places of J&K, especially in Jammu region, has been forecast during 3-4 days.(GNS)
