*Baramulla Police Foil Drug Smuggling Attempts -03 Peddlers Arrested, Contraband Seized.*
Acting on credible inputs, Baramulla Police today laid naka checkpoints at Wussan and Chichlora crossings.
During checking at Wussan, a WagonR vehicle (Reg. No. DL6CL-4065) was intercepted after its occupants attempted to flee on noticing the naka party. The police team acted promptly and apprehended them.
The arrested trio has been identified as:
1.Imtiyaz Ahmad Magray, S/o Bashir Ahmad Magray
2.Furkaan Ahmad Lone, S/o Manzoor Ahmad Lone
3.Danish Ahmad Lone, S/o Mohammad Shamim Lone
(all residents of Merchipora, Tangmarg).
On their personal search, heroin-like substance weighing 8g, 6g and 5g was recovered. The contraband was seized on the spot along with the vehicle.
A case under FIR No. 106/2025 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been initiated.
Baramulla Police assures the public that its campaign against drug peddling will continue with greater intensity and seeks citizens’ cooperation in eradicating the menace.
