DPAP Condemns Unjustified Entry Fees at Srinagar International Airport- Waseem Yaqoob

Srinagar, August 03: Waseem Yaqoob, the State Spokesperson for the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, has strongly criticized the recent changes implemented by the Airport Authority of Srinagar, which have imposed new and unjustified charges at the airportโ€™s entry point and parking area.

According to the new regulations, after an initial 14-minute free period, an entry fee of Rs. 80 is levied, with an additional charge of Rs. 60 applied after half an hour. Moreover, commercial vehicles are no longer exempt from these fees. These increased charges are significantly compounding the financial strain on drivers who already face substantial operating costs.

โ€œIt is outrageous that, on top of the entry fee, individuals are required to pay separate parking charges at the designated parking area. This is nothing short of open loot,โ€ said Yaqoob. โ€œTo add insult to injury, local contractors have been sidelined, and contractors from outside the state have been hired to collect the money.โ€

Waseem Yaqoob has called on the LG Administration to urgently look into this matter. We request the Director of Srinagar International Airport to reconsider these unjustified fees and address the concerns of the local community. Agencies
