Karnah Kupwara :3 Aug Senior National Conference (NC) leader and three-term Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Karnah-Tangdhar, Kafeel Ur Rehman, officially joined the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) in Srinagar on Sunday.
JKPDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti welcomed Rehman into the party, praising him as a “committed leader from Karnah” who “carries the aspirations of his people.”
In a social media statement, JKPDP expressed that Rehman’s joining “further strengthens our resolve for a united, dignified, and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir.”
Rehman served as MLA from Karnah for three consecutive terms in 1996, 2002, and 2008. He was also appointed Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Pahari Advisory Board, a cabinet-ranked position during his tenure with the NC.
