Srinagar, Dec : The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday officially announced that the name of “Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir” has been changed to “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir,” following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Lieutenant Governor.
According to a notification issued by the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, the change has been made in pursuance of a communication from the Government of India, MHA Memo No. 7/10/2025 (Part)-M&G dated November 25, 2025.
The order states that the institution previously known as Raj Bhavan will “henceforth be referred to only as Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.”
The notification has come into effect immediately.
Officials said all future references, documentation, and official communication will now use the new name “Lok Bhavan.”
