Kulgam Administration Disburses Rs 3.5 Crore in Relief to Hailstorm-Affected Families

Kulgam, Jan 4, To aid those hit by the devastating hailstorm that struck Kulgam district in South Kashmir a few months ago, the District Administration has distributed Rs 3.5 crore in relief funds. The natural disaster severely damaged fruit orchards across 31 villages, affecting the livelihoods of over 12,000 families.
Tehsildar Kulgam, Bilal Ahmad, highlighted the administration’s efforts to assess the losses and ensure timely assistance. The relief funds, sourced from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), were directly transferred to the accounts of affected families. Ahmad reassured those with incomplete or incorrect banking details to promptly approach the administration for resolution.
“Our team worked diligently to ensure the funds reached the right beneficiaries without delay,” Ahmad stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting disaster-hit communities.
The initiative has provided much-needed solace to residents who were grappling with financial challenges due to the destruction of their primary source of income. Local leaders and community members praised the administration’s proactive and transparent approach to disaster relief. (CNS)
