Plastic Waste Heaps Along Sindh Nallah Raise Environmental, Public Safety Concerns in Kangan

Kangan, Jan 4, Heaps of garbage dumped along the banks of Sindh Nallah near Cheron Kangan areas have emerged as a serious environmental and public safety concern, triggering strong resentment among the local population.
Inhabitants of Hain Palpora and Nunhama areas said that unchecked dumping of waste along the nallah has not only degraded the surrounding environment but has also rendered the water unfit for use. They warned that continued neglect could have long term consequences for public health and ecological balance in the region.
Locals pointed out that despite the Rural Development Department having deployed vehicles for garbage collection in the area, many people continue to dispose of waste directly along the banks of Sindh Nallah. This practice, they said, has turned the riverbanks into open dumping grounds, polluting the water body and spoiling the natural landscape.
Locals further said that the accumulation of garbage has attracted a large number of stray dogs, creating a constant threat for pedestrians. According to them, movement has become particularly difficult for children, elderly persons, and women, who fear attacks by stray dogs while passing through the area.
The inhabitants demanded immediate intervention by the concerned authorities to ensure regular garbage collection, strict action against illegal dumping, and measures to curb the growing stray dog menace before the situation worsens further.
