Speedy Oil Tanker Plunges into Jhelum River in Sumbal; Driver Missing, Rescue Operations Underway

Srinagar, July 05 : In a tragic incident, a speeding oil tanker veered off the road and plunged into the Jhelum River at Wangipora, Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. According to an official told that the accident occurred during the night as the tanker was traveling from Srinagar towards Sumbal. The vehicle skidded off the road near the Wangipora checkpost and fell into the river, taking the driver with it.

Search and rescue operations have been initiated to locate the driver and the tanker. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local residents are actively involved in the ongoing rescue efforts. Further details are awaited as the situation develops.
