*J&K Government Suspends Doctors, Bans Private Practice Following Hospital Incident*

Srinagar, Feb 06: The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended two doctors and banned their private practice following an incident at Hakeem Sonaullah Hospital in Sopore on February 3rd. The action comes as the government initiates an inquiry into the incident.
According to Government Order No. 115-JK(HME) of 2025, Dr. Anjum Nazir, Consultant Gynaecologist at SDH Sopore, and Dr. Tariq Ahmad Dar, Medical Officer (Diploma in Anesthesia) at DH Bandipora, have been placed under suspension with immediate effect. They will remain attached to the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, until further orders.
The order also explicitly prohibits both doctors from engaging in any form of private practice anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir.
In addition to the suspensions, the government has ordered the sealing of the operation theater at Hakeem Sonaullah Hospital, Sopore, until the completion of the inquiry.
The government statement, issued by Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS, Secretary to the Government, emphasizes the need for a fair and impartial investigation while maintaining the integrity of the healthcare system.
