Sensex surges over 300 points

Mumbai, Nov 6 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained strong for the third straight session on Monday as it rallied 385.86 points to 64,749.64.

In the opening session, buying was seen across the board.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 119.55 points to 19,350.15.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.62 pc and the Small Cap by 0.99 pc.

In 30 scrips, 29 advanced while 1 declined.

The gainers were L and T by 1.75 pc to Rs 2959, Axis Bank by 1.73 pc to Rs 1005.95, JSW Steel by 1.06 pc to Rs 754.20, NTPC by 0.92 pc to Rs 236.50, and Tata Steel by 0.85 pc to Rs 118.30.

The sole loser was SBI by 0.30 pc to Rs 576.40.
