Omar Abdullah’s Budget 2025-26 a ‘Bundle of Lies’: Jasrotia

Jammu & Kashmir BJP spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia has strongly criticized the Budget 2025-26 presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, calling it a “bundle of lies” designed to mislead the people. He accused the J&K government of taking credit for various welfare schemes that are actually initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Jasrotia said that the budget speech is filled with references to central government schemes that have played a crucial role in J&K’s development. He alleged that instead of acknowledging PM Modi’s leadership, the J&K administration is trying to misrepresent these initiatives as its own achievements. According to him, schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Integrated Social Security, Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the Golden Card under AB-PMJAY SEHAT, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and AMRUT have all been introduced by the Modi government, yet the J&K government is repackaging them for political gains.

He further pointed out that the Economic Survey Report presented by the Chief Minister is based on the success of economic reforms and investments facilitated by the central government. The decline in unemployment and J&K’s GDP growth, he said, are a result of massive infrastructure projects and industrial investments directly supported by PM Modi, not by any policies of the current J&K government.

Dr. Jasrotia also criticized the budget for failing to address key issues faced by the people, including the concerns of daily wagers, contractual employees, vocational trainers, and unemployed youth. He said there is no relief for Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Jaryat, and Rehbar-e-Sehat employees, nor any new job creation measures for the educated youth of J&K.

Referring to the government’s announcement of 200 units of free electricity and 10 kg of free ration, he said that this benefit is only available to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries, a scheme already launched by PM Modi. He argued that since only 1.5 percent of J&K’s 1.5 crore population falls under this category, the majority of people will not gain anything from this scheme, making it another misleading claim.

Dr. Jasrotia concluded by stating that the people of J&K will not be misled by false promises and that it is PM Modi’s leadership that has truly transformed the region. He urged the public to see through what he called the J&K government’s deception and to demand real accountability from those in power.
