Vigilance Awareness week: ACB organizes several events across J&K

Srinagar, Aug 07 : The Vigilance Awareness week 2024 is being celebrated across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

During this week Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K has been organizing various awareness programmes for vigilance awareness across UT of J&K, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.

As per the statement, ACB Srinagar conducted seminars at J&K Housing and Urban Local Bodies, Bemina, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar, Tehsil Office Magam and SDPO office Magam. The event aimed to raise awareness about corruption and explore strategies for combating it.

The speakers from ACB, provided insights into the current state of corruption and emphasized the role of citizens in promoting transparency. The seminars featured expert presentations and interactive Q&A sessions, covering topics such as anti-corruption laws and ethical governance. The event was an initiative to educate and empower attendees to uphold integrity in their personal and professional lives.

ACB Anantnag organized seminars at District Police Lines Anantnag and District Police Lines Pulwama.

During the seminars, the officers of ACB spoke on various issues related to corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be checked and eradicated from the society. Speakers gave a detailed presentation on overview of corruption and its evil impact on society.

They also informed the audience about functioning of ACB and elaborated on the ways and means for the general public to approach ACB for institution or registration of complaints. They stressed upon the role of general public in combating corruption.

ACB Baramulla organized seminars at District Police Lines Baramulla and at Municipal Office Baramulla. At both the places officers from ACB discussed the menace of corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be eradicated from society.

The speakers in general stressed upon common masses to be eyes and ears of Anti-Corruption bodies and contribute their bit towards making India Corruption free. The participants at both the places hailed the efforts of Anti-Corruption Bureau in organizing the seminar and hoped that the initiative will go a long way in creating awareness against corruption among people.

ACB Jammu organized seminars at DC Office Samba and Government Degree College Kathua. The officers of ACB stressed on the need of reporting the corruption incidents and become whistle blowers through the online mobile app “SatarkNagrik “. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption. The participants were asked to ensure transparency in the system and report the corruption and bribe related incidents to ACB on whatsApp, email or on phone. At the end, integrity pledge taken ceremony was held.

ACB Rajouri organized seminars at Government Degree College Nowshera and in the office of PHE Division Rajouri. At Nowshera, ACB team sensitize the faculty, other staff and students about functioning of Anti-Corruption Bureau. The participants appreciated the efforts of ACB in organizing such event which will help in achieving the goal of Corruption from society.

At PHQ Division Rajouri, the program was attended by the Government official of Division. The officers of ACB sensitize the participants about functioning of Anti-Corruption Bureau and how to weed out Corruption from the society.

ACB Doda organized two events, one at GDC Ramban wherein Principal Govt. Degree College, Professors and students were attended the Vigilance Awareness Programme.

Rakesh Kumar, SSP ACB DKR delivered a detailed lecture with regard to Vigilance Awareness programme through PPT. The prizes were also distributed among the students of GDC Ramban.

The program was attended by Police Officers of District Ramban. Another programme was organized at Govt. Degree College Doda. The programme was graced by the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Doda, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Doda, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Doda, Principal Govt. Degree College Doda, Tehsildar Doda, students of GDC Doda and officials from various Departments. ACB representatives headed by Dy. SP Imran Malik delivered insightful speeches addressing the pernicious effects of corruption on society and the measures to counter and eliminate it.

They provided a comprehensive presentation detailing the nature and adverse impacts of corruption and elucidated the operational mechanisms of the ACB. They also informed the audience on how to lodge complaints with the ACB and emphasized the pivotal role of public participation in the fight against corruption.
