At least 160 Palestinians killed by Israeli bombing of Gaza

At least 160 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air attacks launched after a Hamas offensive against Israel killed at least 40.

The number of wounded Palestinians exceeded 1,000, medical sources in Gaza told Al Jazeera.
