Only Bemina bypass flyover to be completed by May-end subject to favourable weather
Two vital projects Nowgam, Sanat Nagar to be completed in June, December
Srinagar : One of the three under-construction flyovers on the busiest Pantha Chowk-Parimpora highway in Srinagar is all set to be completed by May end, said an official from R&B department.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the work on the three flyovers which is expected to ease traffic congestion on the busy intersections of Bemina, Sanat Nagar and Nowgam is going on for the last few years.
The official told Kashmir News Observer the Bemina Bypass flyover will be the first to be completed by the end of May.
“Despite challenges including inclement weather and logistical hurdles, progress on the bypass bridge has been steady, raising hopes for a timely inauguration that will alleviate congestion and streamline traffic flow in the area,” he said.
“If weather remains favorable, the bridge is to be completed by May end, and the earth filling has been completed. If it rains, the earth filling has to be stopped and can be continued after three days,” said an official,
He said the rains disrupted work in April and only three working shifts was carried out as earth filling was stopped. Subject to favourable weather, the bridge will be completed in due course of time,” he added.
The Nowgam project is slated for completion by June while Sanath Nagar bridge construction will be completed by late December 2024 or January 2025.
“Despite facing various challenges including terrain difficulties and weather constraints, efforts are underway to ensure the timely delivery of all three essential infrastructure projects,” said an official from R&B heading the inspection work of the Bridges—(KNO)
