Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Dr. Sakina Itoo Sahiba today paid a surprise visit to SMHS Hospital Srinagar

, reaffirming her deep commitment to strengthening healthcare services across Jammu & Kashmir. During the visit, she personally inspected various wards, interacted with patients and attendants, and took on-ground feedback from medical staff to assess the quality of care being provided.
Dr. Itoo emphasized that accessible, affordable, and efficient healthcare remains a top priority of the Government led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah Sahib. She assured that all genuine concerns raised during the visit—whether related to infrastructure, staffing, sanitation, or essential medical facilities—will be addressed on priority to ensure that public hospitals continue to serve people with dignity.
She praised the dedication of frontline health workers, encouraging them to maintain the highest standards of service, especially for patients coming from far-flung and economically weaker sections.
Her surprise inspection reflects her hands-on leadership, sense of responsibility, and unwavering resolve to uplift the healthcare system of J&K. Dr. Sakina Itoo reiterated that the Government will continue taking all necessary steps to ensure that hospitals remain fully equipped, transparent, and people-centric in their functioning.
