Gulmarg, March 9: A fashion show organized in the popular tourist destination of Gulmarg during the sacred month of Ramzan has triggered widespread anger among the people of Kashmir. Pictures and videos from the event have gone viral, sparking shock and condemnation across the region.
Citizens and religious scholars have expressed strong disapproval, questioning how such an event could be allowed in a place known for its deep-rooted Sufi and saintly traditions. Many are calling for immediate action against those responsible, arguing that such obscenity in the name of tourism promotion is unacceptable.
Prominent religious leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has also condemned the event, stressing that it goes against the religious and cultural ethos of Kashmir. “The valley has always upheld modesty and spiritual values, and such activities deeply hurt the sentiments of the people,” he stated.
Calls for accountability are growing, with demands for authorities to take strict action against the organizers and ensure that such events are not repeated in the future.
