April 09: Acting tough against the social crimes, Police in Baramulla arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar Baramulla intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05H-6961 driven by Mohd Abbas Dar son of Ab Khaliq Dar resident of Fatehpora Baramulla. During search, 17 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla and further investigation taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti-social activities will be dealt as per law.
