
Srinagar, June 09:Jammu and Kashmir Police, Tourism Police, and Tourism Department came to the rescue of approximately 300 tourists who were stranded at Mount Affartwatt in Gulmarg.
An official said that the tourists had encountered a technical issue in the second phase of the Gulmarg Gondola. “Led by SHO Gulmarg, Shri Irshad Ahmad, and supported by ASI Shakeel Ahmad TAG, Tourist Police Gulmarg, and AD Tourism Gulmarg, the team swiftly initiated the rescue operation. The officials worked diligently to ensure the safe evacuation of all passengers,” he said.
He said that the rescue operation, which concluded at 3:00 am, proved to be a success as all the tourists were safely brought back to their intended destination. The collaborative efforts of the J&K Police, Tourism Police, and Tourism Department played a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the stranded tourists, the official said.
Meanwhile, SHO Gulmarg Irshad Ahmed confirmed to KNS and said that we launched a rescue operation and carried out the whole night to rescue all tourists.(KNS).
