Traffic police issues comprehensive advisory for July 10 ‘SANJY convoy, highway traffic regulated amid road constraints’

Jammu/Srinagar, July The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police Headquarters has issued a comprehensive advisory for vehicular movement on July 10, 2025, across key routes, particularly in view of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) and prevailing road conditions on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).As per a statement issued here, slow movement was reported on NH-44 in the past 24 hours due to intermittent landslides, shooting stones, and single-lane traffic conditions at critical stretches such as Nashri–Dalwas and Marog–Kishtwari Pather.“Subject to fair weather and road clearance on July 10, SANJY convoys, light motor vehicles (LMVs), and private cars will be allowed to move from both directions—Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa. Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) will operate on alternate days, depending on road conditions and prior clearance from TCU Ramban,” the statement said. “Cut-off timings for LMVs–Nagrota (Jammu): 0600 hrs to 1200 hrs, Jakheni (Udhampur): 0700 hrs to 1300 hrs, Qazigund (towards Jammu): 1130 hrs to 1400 hrs. No vehicle will be permitted to move before or after these designated timings.”“For movement of HMVs/load carriers, HMVs will be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar only after clearance and not beyond 1900 hrs. Coordination between TCU Udhampur and TCU Ramban is mandatory before release. To ensure smooth SANJY traffic, the UT administration has directed that fuel tankers, LPG carriers, FCI empty trucks, and 10-tyre vehicles returning to Jammu must use Mughal Road as per Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s order.”The advisory further reads that as for the route-specific updates–Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244), LMVs and High-Priority Service Vehicles (HPSVs) are allowed from both sides, for Anantnag to Kishtwar: 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs and for Daksum to Kishtwar: 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs.“For Minamarg to Srinagar road, LMVs followed by HMVs are allowed to ply from 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs. For Sonamarg to Kargil: LMVs followed by HMVs, 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle will be allowed after the cut-off timings.
