Police bust illegal liquor operation in Anantnag; Seizes large cache of country-made liquor

August 10: In a significant operation, Police in Anantnag successfully dismantled a major illicit liquor production unit. During a routine inspection at Brick Kiln ‘Jan Thajiwara’, owned by Tanveer Ahmad, Police seized a substantial quantity of country-made liquor and equipment used for its production.

In addition to the seized liquor, Police apprehended eight individuals and recovered ₹13,600, which is believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal liquor.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation is in progress to uncover further details and connections related to this illicit operation.

This operation underscores the J&K Police’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and protecting the community from the detrimental effects of illegal liquor trade. J&K Police prioritize public safety and is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of local laws.
