Bandipora, 11 February 2026:
Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Bandipora Police achieved a major success by apprehending a drug peddler in Hajin and recovering a substantial quantity of contraband from his possession.
Acting on specific and credible information, a police party from Police Station Hajin led by SHO PS Hajin established a naka at Baharabad Hajin. During naka checking, a pedestrian carrying a nylon bag was noticed moving in a suspicious manner and was immediately intercepted for verification.
Upon search, the police party recovered approximately 5 kilograms of bhang powder and 800 grams of charas powder from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Jamsheed Ahmad Wagay, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wagay, resident of Hakabara Hajin.
In this connection, FIR No. 15/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Hajin and investigation has been taken up.
Bandipora Police reiterates its firm commitment towards a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and urges the general public to cooperate and share any information related to narcotics to help eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
