Two Drug Peddlers Held, Narcotics Seized In Handwara

Handwara, Dec 11: Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday said that it has arrested two drug Peddlers and recovered narcotics from them in Kargund area of Handwara in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested two peddlers and recovered narcotics in Kralgund area,” the police in a statement issued to the Kashmir News Service (KNS) said.

It said that, a police party of Police Station Kralgund while on patrolling at Ganapora crossing apprehended two persons, who had attempted to avoid the police party in a suspicious manner.

“On search, around 100 gm of Charas like substance was recovered from their possession,” the police said, adding that the persons have been identified as Mehraj Din Malla @Deena S/o Ab Gafar, R/o Ganapora and Sameer Ahmad Bhat @Hikmat S/o Mushtaq Ahmad R/o Udipora Langate

“In relation to this, FIR No. 96/2022 U/ 8/20, 29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Kralgund and investigation has been initiated,” the police added.
