Nasir Aslam Wani Urges Reopening of Tourist Spots to Revive Kashmir Tourism

Srinagar, June 12, Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to reopen softer tourist destinations across Kashmir, stating that continued closure is hurting the tourism sector and disappointing visitors.
Speaking to reporters during a tourism event, Wani said sites like the Tulip Garden, Badamwari, Doodhpathri, and Beetab Valley are safe and should not remain shut. He added that even Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed concern over the issue.
“These places are not security-sensitive. Tourists return disappointed when they find such spots closed. I appeal to the LG to reopen them in the interest of tourism and local economy,” Wani said.
Following the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam, several tourist sites were shut as a precaution. Wani stressed the need for a balanced approach to ensure both safety and economic revival.
