J&K HC Directs Staff to Wear Prescribed Uniform, Warns of Disciplinary Action

Srinagar, Aug 12, The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued a circular directing all its officers and officials to strictly wear the prescribed uniform while attending office and performing official duties, warning that non-compliance will invite disciplinary action.
“It has been observed that the officers/officials of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh do not wear the prescribed uniform and attend the office/official duties in casual dress which is causing great indiscipline and affects the well functioning of Hon’ble High Court,” the circular issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma reads.
“Therefore, it is hereby impressed upon all the employees of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, whether Gazetted or Non-Gazetted (personal staff attached with the Officers of the Registry/staff of eCourts/I.T Section/Orderlies/Ushers/Drivers) that they shall maintain proper uniform as prescribed for their respective categories while attending office and during official duties,” it states.
“Non-compliance with the prescribed uniform norms shall be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action. Further, all Controlling Officers shall ensure strict adherence to these instructions by the staff under their control,” the circular adds.
“This circular shall come into force with immediate effect,” the Registrar General said.
