Srinagar, September 12: A person accused of Raping a minor was arrested by police within eight hours in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that On the intervening night 10/11-09.2022, at around 1:25 AM Police Station Lal Bazar received a written complaint from the father of a minor girl (name withheld) stating that she was raped by one person namely Wahid Sofi resident Gulshanbagh, Lalbazar Srinagar.
According to police spokesman, On receiving this complaint, a case FIR No. 53/2022 US 376 IPC 3/4 POCSO Act was registered in Police Station Lalbazar and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, a Police Party of Police Station Lal Bazar acting swiftly, arrested the accused person involved in the crime who is under custody. Further investigation in the matter is going on, he said.
