Advocate M.S. Reshi Condemns Delhi Blasts, Terms It a Cowardly Act Against Humanity
Srinagar, Nov. 12 Prominent lawyer and peace activist Advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi on Wednesday strongly condemned the series of explosions that rocked Delhi, terming them a cowardly and inhuman act aimed at spreading panic and fear among innocent civilians.
In a statement issued here, Advocate Reshi said that such barbaric acts of terror are an affront to humanity and peace.
“Words are not enough to condemn such heinous and blood-soaked acts of terror. These blasts are not merely an attack on innocent lives but also a grave assault on the principles of humanity and harmony, he said.
Reshi extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. “In this hour of grief, the entire nation stands united against the menace of terrorism,”he added.
He observed that such mindless violence is aimed at disturbing the atmosphere of peace and communal harmony that forms the foundation of India’s diverse social fabric. He expressed confidence that the perpetrators of the attack would soon be brought to justice.
Lauding the swift and courageous response of the security forces and emergency services, Reshi said their timely action helped avert further casualties.
It may be recalled that Advocate M.S. Reshi has been at the forefront of peace and reconciliation initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir. He was among the first separatist leaders to renounce Hurriyat politics and embrace the path of democracy, setting a precedent for others to follow.
It is pertinent to mention that Hon’ble Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also appreciated Reshi’s efforts through a series of tweets, lauding his contribution towards mainstreaming and national integration.
