*Pulwama Police Thwarts Major Drug Smuggling Attempt at Okhoo Kakapora; Two Held with 12 Kgs of Poppy Straw*

November 12““`In a determined effort to combat drug trafficking, Pulwama Police seized 12 kilograms of suspected poppy straw along with a grinder during a checkpoint operation at Okhoo Kakapora.
Acting on reliable inputs, a police team from Police Station Kakpora intercepted a vehicle (registration HR51BD/1552) driven by Mohd Iftikhar Ali, son of Ati Mohd, resident of Mamgarh Road, Maril Kotla, Punjab. Another person, Mohd Altaf Naik, son of Ab Razak Naik, resident of Urbag Kakpora, was also traveling in the vehicle. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 12 kilograms of poppy straw and a grinder. Both Mohd Iftikhar Ali and Mohd Altaf Naik were arrested on the spot for their involvement in the smuggling attempt.
Accordingly, FIR No. 75/2025 under sections 8/15 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kakpora, and further investigation is in progress.
Pulwama Police reaffirm their commitment to act firmly against drug traffickers and seek public cooperation to eliminate this menace from society.
