4 persons feared dead, over 20 injured as bus carrying SMVDS catches fire in Katra
Jammu, May 13 At least four persons are feared to have died while over twenty others have sustained burn injuries after a bus carrying pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine (SMVDS) caught fire in Katra area of Reasi district in Jammu.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a bus bearing registration number JK14/1831 ferrying pilgrims from Katra to Jammu caught fire near Nomain and engulfed the entire vehicle.
They said that three to four persons were charred alive and are feared dead while number of injured is between twenty to twenty-two.
The officials said that all the injured are having burn injuries and have been rushed to a nearby medical facility while the administration has launched a massive rescue operation.
