5 Gamblers Held in Mirgund Baramulla, Stake Money Recovered: Police

Srinagar, Jul 14 (GNS): Police on Thursday said to have arrested five gamblers playing cards and recovering from them stake money of over eighteen thousand rupees.

“Baramulla Police received reliable information regarding presence of gamblers at Alambal Mirgund Pattan, Baramulla jurisdiction of Police Post Mirgund, reacting on the information, Police Party of Police Post Mirgund rushed towards spot and arrested seven gamblers from the said spots”, said a police spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS.

“Playing cards along with stake money of rupees 18,300/- were recovered from them”, read the statement adding, a case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation set into motion. (GNS)
