Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Holds Meeting on J&K Terror Incidents
Srinagar, Aug 14: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has convened an important meeting on Wednesday to address the increase in terror-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that the meeting, taking place at South Block, includes National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and heads of other security agencies.
They said that the Defence Secretary and Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) are also in attendance.
Meanwhile, multiple search operations are underway across Jammu and Kashmir, including in Doda, Anantnag, and Udhampur, to eliminate terrorists.
Earlier on Tuesday, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar reviewed the ongoing anti-terrorist operations in the Chenab valley region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt Gen Kumar visited the forward locations of counter-insurgency Delta force in Doda and Kishtwar and exhorted all ranks to maintain a high tempo of operations, ensuring security and safety for ongoing and upcoming events, the Army’s Northern Command posted on X.
He (Lt Gen Kumar) assessed the options for deployment of additional forces being inducted into the area and emphasised on synergy with Jammu and Kashmir police and paramilitary forces.(Agencies)
