*Kulgam police under Civic action programme-2025 organises Shaheed DYSP Aman Kumar Thakur memorial cricket tournament*
Kulgam,February 15 : In the memory of Police martyrs for their supreme sacrifices of their lives to safeguarding unity and integrity of the Nation.Today on 15.02.2025, SSP Kulgam *Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS* inaugurated Shaheed shri DySP Aman Kumar Thakur memorial cricket tournament under Civic action programme-2025 to inculcate the sense of sportsmanship and Amity among the participants with the objective to provide them a platform so that they can exhibit their talent and hone their skills, as this gesture will go a long way in nurturing the sports activities in the district. Officers ASP Kulgam, ASP NHW Qazigund Kulgam, DYSO Kulgam, DYSP DAR Kulgam and other officers were present.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP kulgam assured the participants that we are committed to provide the platform to the youth to excel in their sports field so that their talent will be explored and channelized towards positive direction.
The tournament will be played on knockout bases in which total number of 24 teams of the district are participating. The inaugural match was played between Akhal CC and LCC Kulgam. Inauguration was witnessed by a huge gathering of the sports lovers.
The tournament is being organised under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam as a varied initiative for betterment of society.
Community members especially the participants have shown extraordinary enthusiasm and applauded the police department for organizing the tournament to boost their morale and expressed hope that more platforms will provide to boost sports activities in future too.
