Row Over CM-Speaker Meeting: Sajad Lone Says It Is an Insult to the Sanctity of the Legislature, Disgrace to the Post of Speaker

Srinagar, Feb 15 : A controversy has erupted after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s office posted on X, formerly twitter, that Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather called on him to discuss the budget session, evoking sharp criticism from Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone.

In a post on X, formerly twitter, Lone termed the meeting as an “insult to the sanctity of the legislature” and a “disgrace” to the post of Speaker.

Lone questioned why the Speaker, the highest authority in the legislature, needed to meet with the CM.

He also took potshots at the Speaker, saying he was “sitting like a good boy” in front of the CM.
