*Police Places Head Constable Under Suspension for Drunken Driving Incident In Baramulla*
Srinagar, March 15: Baramulla Police has placed a Head Constable under suspension after he crashed his vehicle at Sheeri checkpost while driving in an inebriated condition.
In a handout to agency the police said that the HC Javid Ahmad (EXK-011664), presently posted in Uri area, was driving an Alto vehicle bearing registration number JK12D-8187 on the night of 13 March 2026. During the incident, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the Sheeri Naka barrier. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Taking serious note of the misconduct and violation of discipline, the official has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
A departmental enquiry has also been ordered to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
