JKPCC President Urges MEA for Urgent Evacuation of J&K Students from Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Srinagar, June 15- – As tensions escalate in Iran, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra has appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for the immediate evacuation of students from Jammu and Kashmir currently studying in the region.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) from Srinagar, Karra urged External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to “prioritize the safety of J&K students” amid the volatile and worsening situation in Iran. He called for “comprehensive support and swift, secure repatriation” of all students to ensure their well-being.
“The situation is rapidly deteriorating, and these young students are in a vulnerable position. Their families are deeply concerned. We urge the government to act without delay,” Karra stated.
With rising geopolitical tensions and reports of possible regional escalations, families in Jammu and Kashmir have been increasingly anxious over the safety of their children studying abroad. The call for action comes as part of a broader concern for Indian nationals residing in high-risk regions.
