Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Friday.
In a post on Social media, Omar Abdullah wrote, “Called on Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman Ji. Our discussion centered around crucial economic matters concerning Jammu and Kashmir.”
“I passionately advocated for much-needed support from the Union Finance Ministry for the region”, he said.
This visit marks a significant step in Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s official engagements since taking office as the Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir Government last month.
In recent weeks, he has held discussions with top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. Earlier he also met President of India and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
