January 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Ganderbal have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
A police party led by SHO PS Kheerbawani Insp. Mudasir Zaroo at a checkpoint established at Hatbura arrested two drug peddlers identified as Shabir Ahmad Ganie son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie and Fayaz Ah Dar son of Gh Hassan Dar, both residents of Kachan Ganderbal. During search, officers were able to recover psychotropic substances from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 04/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Kheerbawani and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
