Srinagar, Jul 17 (GNS): Amid forecast isolated to scattered very light rain in next 24 hours, the minimum temperature recorded a drop at most places and settled below normal in Jammu and Kashmir except Katra on Sunday.
A meteorological department official here said that during last 24 hours till 0830 hours today, 4.0 mm of rainfall was recorded in Srinagar, 1.2 mm in Qazigund, 6.6 mm in Pahalgam, 3.0 mm in Kupwara, 0.6 mm in Kokernag, 3.8 mm in Gulmarg, 1.1 mm in Jammu, 0.4 mm in Banihal and 3.4 mm in Bhaderwah.
โThere is possibility of isolated to scattered light rain/TS over J&K during next 24 hours,โ the official said.
Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded a low of 18.0ยฐC against 18.1ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.4ยฐC โbelowโ normal during this time of the year for the summer capital, the MeT official told GNS.
Qazigund recorded a low of 16.6ยฐC against 17.1ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.1ยฐC below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
In Pahalgam, the mercury settled at 12.4ยฐC against 13.8ยฐC on the previous night and it was 0.1ยฐC below normal for the south Kashmir resort.
Kokernag recorded a low of 15.2ยฐC against 15.5ยฐC last night and it was 0.8ยฐC below normal for the place, he said.
World famous Gulmarg resort recorded a low of 10.0ยฐC against 9.5ยฐC and it was 2.1ยฐC below normal for the place. Kupwara town saw a low of 16.3ยฐC against 15.5ยฐC on previous night and it was 0.7ยฐC โbelowโ normal for the place during this time of the season, the official told Global News Service.
Jammu recorded a low of 24.9ยฐC against 24.4ยฐC on the previous night. It was 0.1ยฐC below normal for J&Kโs winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 16.8ยฐC, Batote 18.1ยฐC, Katra 23.7ยฐC while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 17.9ยฐC, the official said. (GNS)
