Two held with narcotics in Handwara

Handwara Police on Wednesday said they have arrested two persons and have recovered charas like substance from their possession in Kralgund area of Police district Handwara.

Police in a statement said,” Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested two peddlers and recovered narcotics in Panditpora area.”

It said “Today on 17 August, 2022, a police party of Police Station Kralgund, during patrolling in Pandithpora area apprehended two persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner. On search, around 106 grams of charas like substance was recovered from their possession.”

Police identified them as Tariq Ahmad Moochi and Abdul Quyoom Mir both residents of Pandithpora

In relation to this, FIR No. 70/2022 U/s 8/20,29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Kralgund and investigation has been initiated, reads the concluding para of statement
