KATHUA: The death toll has risen to seven in the Janglot area of J&K’s Kathua district after heavy rains triggered cloudbursts and landslides in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, officials said.
They said the deceased include a teenager, four children, and two women.
Officials identified the deceased as Renu Devi (39), wife of Parveen Singh; Radhika (9), daughter of Parveen Singh; Surmu Din (30), son of Bashir Ahmed; Fanu (6), son of Surmu Din; Shedu (5), son of Surmu Din; Tahu (2), son of Habib Deen; and Zulfan (15), daughter of Bashir.
All the victims were residents of Bagra village, Janglot, Tehsil Kathua.
