Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal, contraband substance recovered
October 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, a Police Party led by SHO PS Safapora under the supervision of DySP Hqr’s Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Asham-Safapora crossing intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04A-8598, ridden by one person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During search, officers were able to recover contraband substance (Charas) from his possession. He has been identified as Yasir Hassan Parray son of Gh Hassan Parray resident of Parray Mohalla Asham Bandipora. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 38/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Safapora & investigation has been taken up.
