Police arrests a rustler in Awantipora, Stolen cattle recovered

January 18: Police in Awantipora have arrested a rustler and recovered stolen cattle within 24hours.

On 17/01/2023, Police Station Pampore received a written complaint from Mohammad Altaf Bhat resident of Patalbagh Pampore stating there in that during intervening night of 16/17 January, some unknown burglar/burglars have stolen his two cows from cowshed located at Patalbagh Pampore.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 09/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pampore and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, officers following leads acted swiftly and were able to recover stolen cattle at Allochibagh Samboora Pampore Crossing in a load carrier bearing registration number JK01AN-8891. The accused identified as Zahoor Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar A/P Fruit Mandi Parimpora Srinagar was also arrested. Besides, vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Stolen cattle will be handed over their rightful owners after completion of legal formalities.

Community members have appreciated the efforts made by the Police for solving the case. Our efforts should assure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
