Rs 70 per person fixed as Sadq-e-Fitr this Ramadan: Grand Mufti J&K

Srinagr, Mar 18: Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul Islam Farooqi, declared the Sadq-e-Fitr (Zakaat-ul-Fitr) rate as seventy rupees per person for the holy month of Ramadan.

According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com, Mufti Nasir-ul Islam stressed the importance of this charity, highlighting that after thorough consultation with scholars from various schools of thought, the agreed amount has been set at seventy rupees per individual. He emphasized that this charity must also be paid on behalf of infants.

Sadq-e-Fitr is an obligatory charity observed by Muslims worldwide, to be paid before or during Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, separate from the annual Zakat.
