*J&K staring at water crisis: Omar Abdullah*
*"Will be reviewing measures Jal Shakti department intends to tackle situation"*

Srinagar, Feb 19 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that Jammu & Kashmir is facing a water crisis this year, and he will be reviewing the measures the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department intends to take to address the situation.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Omar Abdullah stated that J&K is staring at a water crisis this year. βItβs not a recent phenomenon; itβs actually been building up for a few years now,β he said, as per news agencyβ
Omar emphasized that the government alone cannot handle the crisis and that people need to take measures for water conservation. βWhile the government will have to adopt a more proactive approach for water management and conservation, it canβt just be a government-centric approach. All of us residents of J&K will have to change the way we take water for granted,β he said.
He added that he will be reviewing the measures the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department plans to take to deal with the developing crisis and will be talking to the people of J&K over the next few months about what can be done collectivelyβ
