Awantipora, February 19 -:-In a bid to promote sportsmanship and youth engagement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, under the Civic Action Programme 2024-25, inaugurated a T20 knockout Cricket Tournament at District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora.
The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora, in the presence of DySP DAR Awantipora and other senior officers. A total of 10 teams from different areas of Police District Awantipora, including a team from DPL Awantipora, are participating in the competition. The inaugural match featured an exciting clash between DPL Awantipora and Renzipora Royals.
Addressing the players, SSP Awantipora emphasized the importance of sports in fostering positive energy among youth, enhancing their competitive spirit, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. He also highlighted the J&K Police’s commitment to organizing more such sporting events in the future to engage young talents and keep them away from negative influences.
The tournament is expected to witness intense competition as teams battle for the championship title, with the police continuing their efforts to encourage sports and youth development in the area،
