SRINAGAR: A six-year-old boy died and his younger sister was critically injured after the two siblings fell into a deep water tubewell in Harwani village of Khansahab area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
“They have been identified as Basit Ahmad Khan (6) and Zainab (5), children of Mohammad Afrooz Khan, residents of Harwani. The siblings were reportedly found unconscious after falling into the tubewell and were rushed to the nearby Sub-District Hospital by their family, the sources said,” officials said.
Doctors at the hospital declared Basit dead on arrival, while Zainab was referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment. Her condition is stated to be critical.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
