‘Will inquire about violent protests in the area’

Srinagar, July 19 :- Deputy Commissioner Baramulla has announced that a water supply scheme worth 60 crores is being constructed to address the water deficit in the Pattan area.

Talking to reporters in Pattan area as per news agency Kashmir Scroll said that the aim of this project is to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply to the entire region, alleviating the long-standing issues of water scarcity.

He said that 60 crore project can’t be completed overnight but work is going on in full swing and is expected to be completed in next 6-7 months.

He said that 75 percent work has been completed and area that has long pending water issue will get piped potable water soon.

The initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the living standards and infrastructure in Baramulla.

DC Baramulla said that an inquiry will be conducted to investigate the violent clashes that erupted during a protest by residents of the Chainbal area in Pattan.

The residents were demonstrating against the persistent water scarcity in their region.

The protest escalated, leading to a confrontation with the police.

The DC assured the public that measures are being taken to resolve the water scarcity issue promptly.(KS)
