Zojila Pass Receives Fresh Snowfall, Srinagar-Leh Highway Temporarily Closed

Srinagar, Feb 20, Fresh snowfall at Zojila Pass on Thursday led to the temporary closure of the Srinagar-Leh highway, disrupting traffic movement in the region.

According to officials, a few inches of snow accumulated on the highway, making it unsafe for vehicular movement. As a precautionary measure, authorities halted traffic until the road conditions improve.

Meanwhile, light snowfall was also reported in the upper reaches of Kashmir, including Sonamarg and Zojila Pass, at the time of filing this report.

An official said that the weather conditions are being closely monitored, and efforts to clear the highway are underway.
